Theme – "Rise and Shine"

All artists are invited to submit work that expresses their view of ‘Rise and Shine’… through 2D & 3D mediums: Painting, Photography, Digital Illustration, Printmaking, Collage, Ceramics, Drawing, Sculpture or other mediums.

This year's Festival theme, "Rise & Shine", draws inspiration from the phoenix rising from the flames—a symbol of resilience and renewal. It urges us to awaken to our fullest potential and emit our unique sparks.

As a queer community, we reclaim and empower ourselves from adversity, akin to the pink triangle's transformation into a symbol of pride. "Rise & Shine" embodies awakening, growth, and positivity, reflecting our inner strength and resilience. It emphasizes community, collaboration, and supportive networks in personal and collective growth. Amidst polarization and extremism, we unite stronger than ever, using queer arts for healing, transformation, empowerment, and amplifying our diverse voices.

Designed to showcase LGBTIQ Central Coast artists to local, statewide and national audiences, Coastal Twist Festival has been breaking regional boundaries since its launch in 2019, connecting the region’s thriving creatives with new opportunities, residencies, audiences and new opportunities for paid work as the region and its businesses opens up for visible inclusion and a better way moving forward.
