Art Exhibition Call out

Coastal Twist festival  is calling out to our regions LGBTIQ visual artists for inclusion in its first curated exhibition to be held at Jasmine Greens, Umina Beach. The exhibition will open from Thursday 27th Sept - 3rd Oct 2022.

“Be the Change” is our theme for this year’s Coastal Twist Festival. Taken from Gandhi’s quote: “Be the change you wish to see in the world” – Gandhi

Exhibiting artists are requested to submit a scan of their work (or concept)  for an artwork expressing their interpretation of ‘CHANGE’ in a curated exhibition that will reflect (some of ) the diversity of our LGBTIQA+ lives.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: (To be considered)

• DEADLINE FOR EOI APPLICATION (FORM BELOW)  30 JUNE 2022:
• You must identify as LGBTIQ to submit work
• Submissions are welcome in 2 & 3D mediums: Painting, Photography Printmaking, Collage, Ceramics, Drawing, Sculpture or other medium.
• All artworks should be available for sale- (Unless specified otherwise) & Coastal Twist Festival will receive a minimal 10% commission of any sales
• All works to be finalised as max Canvas Size – 60cm x 80cm
• All final entries by artists will be notified by the curatorial team & no further discussion will be entered into after that. Late entries will not be accepted.
• At the end of the Exhibition unsold artworks have to be picked up from the Gallery 4 Oct or Gosford Office of Naughty Noodle thursday 6th Oct 2022 between 9am-5pm
• Sold artwork payments will be finalised within 2 weeks of event close.

Due to space requirements limited numbers of artworks will be chosen. All artists notified must have work completed and ready to hang 26 Sep.

Designed to showcase LGBTIQ Central Coast artists to local, state wide and national audiences, Coastal Twist Festival has been breaking regional boundaries since its launch in 2019 connecting the region’s thriving creatives with new opportunities, audiences and streams.

• 13 DEC 2021: Selected artists informed
• 26 Sept 2022: FINISHED ARTWORKS to be dropped off at Centered Ceramics – 246 West St, Umina Beach 4:30pm-5:30pm
• 27 Sept 2022:  Festival VIP Launch & Exhibition opening
• 27 Sept - 3 Oct 2022:  Exhibition dates - Open daily 9am-4pm
• 4 Oct 2022:  Work to be picked up between 9am-5pm

We are looking for artists to respond to the theme of 'CHANGE'. We want to encourage creative responses to this theme, welcoming artists to challenge perceptions of art, the boundaries of making art and fine art.  Apply now below
